Try changing your CRT monitor's refresh rate first.

If you're using Windows, right click on your desktop to bring up the Display Properties dialog. Choose the Settings tab, and click on the Advanced button in the lower right. Under the Monitor tab, try choosing different settings under Screen refresh rate.

You may have to lower your screen resolution to get more refresh rate options. There's a little slider on the same dialog with the Advanced button.

This may or may not work, but it's worth a try before buying a new LCD monitor. But the LCD monitor should probably do the trick if that doesn't work.
