No reason not to put the P3 on top of the K3 and that is what I presently do in my SO2R station. This keeps everything compact, in easy reach, with minimal hand and eye movement which I appreciate for contesting. I have a long shelf supported by 2x4s on edge. The keys and SO2R Box fit nicely under the shelf. The K3s are on the shelf, bails extended, with the P3s on top of the K3s.
I used to have another long shelf above the K3s, just tall enough to clear them with bails in use, and had the P3s on that shelf, maybe 2" higher than they are now. That worked, too. It provided more room for other accessories but got awkward for positioning the large monitor.
