Just updated the K3 and KAT500. So far all works as advertised, with one odd phenomenon. The SWR LEDs on the KAT don't match the KPA SWR meter and LEDs when the KPA is in Operate mode. (They match reasonably well when the KPA is in Standby.) In fact, on most trained frequencies the KAT LEDs don't light at all, even when the KPA is indicating an SWR of 1.3 or more at full power. Prior to the firmware update this was not the case - the LEDs on both units synced pretty well. Anyone know why this should have changed?
I have not updated the KPA500 yet, for lack of the proper cable. Could that be causing this effect? Which brings up question 2 - anyone know a good source for that cable? It's RS232 on one end and USB on the other, for a Mac running OS X. Tnx for any clues . . .
