To effectively use the Mini on the desk in a "close to the operator" position and the K3/100 at the back of the desk in its normal position would require that only a single cable run from the Mini to the K3/100 be used. RX audio would be picked up from the K3/100 as normal and key/mic inputs would also be directly to the K3/100. To do this any other way would clutter the desk with too many wires. I don't think using the Mini for this purpose was planned on - perhaps in the future.

In the interim, I am going to mount the K3/100 on a tracked and rotatable shelf (visualize as drawer hardware with a lazy Susan on it) with a total height of 3/4". I am a pretty good cabinet maker, so it should finish well and look good whether pulled out or pushed back. A proper cable tie job will be required, but that will eliminate some other associated problems anyway. If it works well, I will save a lot of money.
