I believe a similar problem exists to some extent on the K3. You really need to use the RF gain, NR an other noise mitigating methods to eliminate thumping when in QSK mode on the K3. IF you have a very quiet environment you might be OK. I usually run the K3 on Semi-BK in and run the delay to .05. This is good enough for me to enjoy almost perfect QSK, just slightly delayed.
The very best QSK I have heard is on the Ten Tec Eagle. However, The Eagle with it's two tiered menu system is a bear especially when trying to use the RIT, so that rig did not sit around long.
