As long as the balanced line isn't resonant, you should be OK.  I use
61 feet here (18.6m) and it works fine from 2.8 MHz up.  The doublet
is 150 feet, total length.  So far I haven't found a freq that the
K3's ATU cannot tune, and that includes many MARS channels outside and
between the U.S. Amateur bands.
