Hi Mike, I appreciate your thoughts on the K1. You're right -- it has a much simpler user interface than the KX3, and lower receive-mode current drain.
But, regarding size and weight: The KX3 weighs only slightly more than the K1 (1.5 vs. 1.4 lbs), and the KX3 is roughly 30% smaller than the K1 (1.7 x 3.4 x 7.4" vs. 2.2 x 5.2 x 5.6").
