I would normally agree with you about the analog display John, and that's why my LP-100 digital wattmeter project has a bargraph analog display as well as numerical readout, and it is MUCH faster than an analog meter... fast enough to follow voice peaks. The LP-100 has 36 bar segments, and even the handheld LP-300 has 21 segments... they feel quite "analog". Also, they both show simultaneous power and SWR in both digital and analog form on one screen.

Hi Thomas,

I'm very happy with my Diamond 600N, which I chose after reading the reviews on eham.com. You might want to read them yourself. The Diamond offers a lot of flexibility with three power ranges and a separate vhf/uhf input. In any case, do get an analog meter. It will be much more useful for alignment work, of course, as you can see the peaks more easilly.

Happy New Year!

Subject: [Elecraft] Recommendation for a 200 Watt SWR/Wattmeter?

Hello,
now that I started assembling the KPA100 I think
about it purchasing a SWR/Power Meter which may handle
up to 200 Watts and I would prefer one which is
useful in the 1.8 to the 150 MHz range

So far i found two candidates:

1.) Daiwa CN-801H SWR-Meter 1.8 - 200 MHz

2.) Diamond SX-600N SWR/Wattmeter 1.8 - 525 MHZ, 200 Watt

Any comment is appreciated and I thank you in advance for
your help.
