Yes, I have been successful in getting the RPi B+ and RPi2 (both Wheezy
Raspian and Jessie Raspian) to connect to the KX3 with the Elecraft
supplied cables and two different USB sound cards (Griffin iMic and
Creative Labs).  Plug and play for me.  The device you need to look for is
something like /dev/ttyUSB0.

I don't do WSPR, but I do do WSJT-X and FlDigi.  Both work fine on the
RPi.  I wanted the latest versions of these apps, so I built from source.
WSJT-X was tough.  FLDigi was a snap.  But, what is in the RPi repos will
likely be good enough for most.

Google is your best friend when it comes to debugging issues you may find
on the RPi.  Lots of other Hams have come before you and asked the same
questions.
