I forget about WSPR, but as JT9 etc uses Hamlib for rig control, just
guessing, but did you build the Hamlib rig control library and get all
that installed and working?
You can use the command line or an app called "Grig" (no doubt others
too) to test Hamlib.

I am trying to get WSPR and my KX3 talking but something isn't working, as I keep getting
a "rig control error" in WSPR.
