Hi,

I'm going to be building a power supply for a K2. I have two choices for regulators from the junk box: an LM338, T03 5A adjustable regulator, and a complete PCB based on the LM723 with external pass transistors. I have a torodial transormer that can supply 3A continous.

I'd like to use the LM723 board, but I'd also like to save it for a more complicated supply (like for the KPA-100). For some reason, I don't want to trust the LM338, its just too simple... Performance? Reliability? I can't quite grasp the possiblity that I can get a decent supply with less than 10 parts!

Thanks & 73,
Dave AA3EE
