One side is dits, other side is dahs, and the 3rd wire is the common. If you're right-handed, you probably want the dits on the left [thumb] and the dahs on the right [fingers]. If you're left-handed, you're sort of on your own, I am, and I used to paddle right, have slowly migrated left, but with a right-hand setup. None of this really matters, you can invert the paddle sense in the menu of most Elecraft rigs.

I'm not sure but I think the dit side goes to the tip, the dah side to the ring, and the common to the sleeve. Again, it doesn't matter, just make sure the common is to the sleeve. You can change it in the menu.
