Removing the left side panel also makes it much easier to confirm that the connectors at the rear left of the KRX3 have been mated correctly. First-time assembly can be a little tricky, but becomes much easier after the connector pins have settled into their correct alignment. (The same is also true of the front-panel connectors, by the way.)
