I upgraded yesterday and my "weird" situation appears to be resolved.  Probably a good practice to regularly upgrade to the latest level.....I should have trusted Elecraft more!   

I certainly will from now on.

I just this morning upgraded the software to the latest version. It seems to hear really well I worked a guy in TX and he was gangbusters at 5 watts. Thanks Wayne and Eric for a great radio and easy fixes.
