With 1.3k I use an internal tuner. It allows for instant QSY and instant antenna changes.
I have Expert 2k as well. 4 antennas with SWR< 3:1 are attached directly, and a dipole fed by ladderline is attached via MFJ-998. With MFJ-998 pretuned, QSY takes a second.
