Since you bring up bears. I'd like to pass on a letter for all you QRPers
who like to go out in the wilderness.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture in cooperation with Canadian authorities
have issued an official bear warning. This is due to the recent increase in
bear attacks. Since most of these attacks are directly attributed to
surprising the bears. You are advised, when in bear territory, to wear a
little bell and to carry pepper spray. You are also advised, since Black
bears are far more doscile than Brown bears, to try to determine what kind
of bear is in your area. This is easily done by examining their waste. Black
bear waste contains little bits of berries, insects, and such. Brown bear
waste contains little bells and smells like pepper.
