Well, FWIW I purchased a brand new SPE 1.5K amp from Bob the importer and distributor. The gain was measured to be around 21dB. As it did not meet the published spec which I requested, Bob agreed to take it back for a full refund including shipping. I didn't say he wasn't a nice guy.
