I had a pretty good antenna and 15 meters was open nearly all the time. Signals were booming in from everywhere on earth. I was one of a few novices who worked DXCC during the 1-year allowable Novice term. Bill, KN4RID, now W4ZV, was the first. Great fun. Short-wave radio was high tech in those days and guys all over the world were eager to get in on the excitement. I assumed it was always going to be like that.
