I set the IP by using the facility in my router to assign a fixed IP to a MAC address. Using the "KPA1500 remote" software I can access the amp on the local LAN via Ethernet or via the USB connection.
I have not been able to access it remotely via the Ethernet interface by forwarding an external port to the KPA1500 IP address and port, so I use the USB interface and then Windows desktop connection to accomplish remote control. This is okay for one person access, which is all I need.
