Never had a problem like that at UPS, and I’ve shipped many high value items with them. I did have a problem like that, but not as severe, at FedEx once. They opened the box because I said the value was about $4000.00. They had to insure the packing was sufficient. I’ve avoided them for high-value items ever since. 73 de Carl
