Hi John, It uses the standard KXUSB (or an RS232 equivalent) cable. It configures from HRD as a COM# port at a baud rate you set for the radio. I have 4 radios configured including my KX3 and can control all four from HRD simultaneously from my workstation. Jack KD4IZ
