I don't expect my KAT500 to re-tune with an SSB transmission since I send it the exact TX frequency before I start to transmit. However, it is my understanding that commands FCCS; and FCMD; were added to KAT500 firmware to deal with exactly the situation you describe. I'd suggest a review of the KAT500 Serial Command Reference. Values can be adjusted with the KAT500 utility.
