Thanks for the input I'm using the suggested iMic which does have a line input and a mic input. I'm beginning to believe that it really is that the radio is not working correctly. I'm going to reach out elecraft directly to see what I can do without sending the radio to them for the fact that I'm using it for my CWA class.
