Pete; You should set your K3 so that it automatically adjusts power when the KPA1500 goes into OPER mode. To do this, go into the Config menu, the PWR SET entry, and set it to PER-BAND as described on page 63 of the K3S Operating Manual, rev A1. At this point you can switch the KPA into OPER mode, then adjust the power level to make the KPA happy. Do this for each band - in this case when on 160 meters.
