The Honda EU2200i will handle the KPA500 quite well and provide power for other items.    You should run the generator in the ECO throttle in the OFF position as CW and SSB will have it trying to keep up with load changes.  And the new ones are rated at 2200 watts max, 1800 watts rated where as the older one was 2000 watts max.  With the EU2200i you should not need a UPS.
