For 20M (and it will work thru 10M, possibly on 30M) an easy to build wire antenna with some gain is a half square. It can be corner fed with coax quite easily. Cebik's (w4rnl) site has dimensions to match 50 ohm coax. A google search for "half square antenna" will yeild a plethora of sites. It's a great DX antenna, but you may get weirded out by how quiet it is initially.
