What appeals to me about the Micro-908 is that it's more than an exercise, being very useful for a lot of things. I'm not worried about it being complicated; one thing I learned from building the K2 is that I can do anything if I break it into small enough pieces and take as much time as I need with each! It also helps to have a comfortable, clean, neat work area and the right tools.

I want to build a software-defined radio some day and this is a place to start.
