Since you already realized I am biased... :-)

External, no-control, DSP speakers usually have the following issues:

For SSB:

Notch filter has delay of a second or so. A carrier tuning up nearby will be at full strength for a significant fraction of a second before it is suppressed. This is to allow copying CW with no controls.

The KDSP2 is very, very quick at suppressing such tones.

For CW:

Unless the unit in question has a separate input for keying sidetone (and note that the K2 does not have a separate output for this), the transmit sidetone from the K2 will be delayed by the filtering in the DSP. This can make sending CW awkward.

The KDSP2 is not in the K2's CW sidetone audio path, so there is no additional delay added.
