Are you sure that your minimizing SSB voice frequencies above 2000 Hz? I hope that's a typo, because its fundamentally incorrect. Its perfectly okay to use SSB mode with FT8 and other digital modes, but you MUST set TX equalization to flat and CMP to fully counterclockwise.
