I'm not going to run out and buy one of those.... but in it's defense... it IS 
designed for high level video use, as in network edit rooms, or graphics design 
rooms.  It has many display refresh rates, so it can marry into various TV uses 
in many countries.  It's meant to be a professional product.  There are studios 
that spent that much on just a microphone, let alone a broadcast TV camera and 
its lens, which costs more than a car.
I solve the whole issue by simply not having a shack.  All my operating is a la 
portable.  So, I don't need any monitors.

For ham use in the shack it would be pointless (unless you have money burning 
holes in your pocket).  If you do photography/video editing or graphics as a 
pro — that’s another thing entirely, and where the market for this display 
lives :-)
