Good Evening,

The loggers are done, I need to set my alarm clock again. Once the torrential rains of winter have flattened out the ruts it will be fun to hike the forest again.  I expect by mid-summer some of the undergrowth will have come back.  I was startled by a grouse this morning so she is inspecting the new areas too.  More elk tracks leading to new trails.  Once they figure things out there will be a number of hard packed trails I can follow.

I was able to drop the two hemlock trees blocking the southern leg of my doublet.  When I came inside and checked the bands I heard an AK station working an AZ station.  Very good copy so I left it on and made lunch.  A long rag chew about antennas and rigs and such.  Next I heard a station from Costa Rica.  I kept scanning and found MN, MI, NE, FL, TX, AL, AZ, WI, and OK.  I think that antenna is working on twenty as I had expected it would.  On forty meters AK, BC, AZ, CA, WY, IA, KY, UT, and FL. Working there too.  Now to test it with tomorrow's nets.  I left the second antenna right where it was so I'll keep A/B testing for a while.  But antenna work is never done.

Please join us tomorrow on:

7047 kHz at 0000z Monday  (4 PM PST Sunday)
