Hauled the K2 out with the internal battery and KAT to the local waterfront breakwater (fresh not salt hihi) Used a 20' fishing pole inserted into a plastic wire reel, strung a wire from the top down to the passenger side seat (23 or 24 feet didn't bother to measure it). Flipped about 14' single radial over the door onto the ground, connected the whole mess up, cranked the power down to 5W... Worked 64 stations, 40 thru 10, including VE9DX and a good number of 6 & 7land folks, even managed a lil' run calling CQ.
I had used a TenTec earlier in the day and I am still amazed at the Rx capabilities of my lil' kit.
