I'm using a RemoteRig RRC-1258 pair in my remote setup, not an MFJ1234. I parallel the mic output of the RRC with the station local mic line, plugged into the K3 MIC connector, and it seems to work for what little SSB I do. I've not made any measurements of interfering ambient noise, but haven't heard any complaints.
