P 40 & 41 of the K2 manual walks you through the process of hooking the display & control boards together and to the main (RF) board. Use that as the final guide.
To get the display off, you'll have to take a few screws out and just pull forward. Make sure you remember to get the screw that holds the control board to the display board.
