They are all over the USA, I believe, and custom cut acrylic sheet for individuals at a very reasonable price. If a K2 will operate with the sides and top off, I can't see how it'd be any worse with clear top and sides. Just don't replace the heat sink on the bottom of the K2 (or on top of the KPA100) with plastic! That said, sure it'll be somewhat more susceptible to RFI and perhaps even produce a little RFI without the metal case, perhaps. And even if it does it may not be significant in your situation.
