While your KX3 with the Ni-MH batteries installed is ON with an external power 
supply, tap DISP and rotate the OFS/VFO B nobl  to find BT voltage. This lets 
you know the battery voltage.
My KX3 with fully charged Ni-MH batteries shows “BT 10.7V”. It should be more 
than 8V with new Ni-MH batteries.
If your KX3 shows very low voltage, something in your battery holder is wrong. 
First thing to check is battery direction in the holder.
