Hi Chuck, I had similiar experiences with several USB adapters. It seems to be an issue, not just with the K2, but other devices as well.
Drivers may help, configuration is important as well. On my laptop, the default com port was com11. Your equipment might be looking for a device on a different com address (ie N1MM looks for com1, but you can set it for a different port). Don's point is important to remember, you still have to use the K2 DB9 cable to interface to the USB adapter. I also found many of the multiport USB devices were useless (or more of a pain to use than they were worth). This is what I found that worked (except I can't use it to send CW via N1MM) with the K2 and my computer: Tripp Lite U209-000-R Serial Adapter - mini USB Type A - DB-9 - male . Your mileage may vary ;o) 73, Julius n2wn _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
