Didn't hit the off button by mistake, but the radio shuts itself off when I touch the Elecraft kpod remote maybe once in a couple of hundred times. I've been cleaning in the shack all day and likely that's what happened. It's annoying but never caused an issue.
With another 45 minutes of messing around, however, I think I found the problem. As I said, I've been cleaning all day, and part of that was using a Q-tip to clean off the accumulated crud from my Begali Sculpture key. At first I thought I mis-adjusted it accidentally, but that wasn't the case. I replaced the cables and swapped out the 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter and it was "less bad". By that I mean the constant dahs stopped, but I was still sending extra dahs when I released the paddle. On a hunch I opened up the contacts on the key and put some 94% alcohol on a Q-tip and cleaned off the dah contacts. I think that got it. At least for the moment. That it started happening right after the radio shut itself off made me think some setting in the K3s got borked by the uncommanded power-off, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I'm still not 100% sure it's fixed, but it's better than it was. - pjd -----Original Message----- From: Vincent Diak <uncleben...@gmail.com> Sent: Saturday, January 1, 2022 2:50 PM To: li...@w2irt.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3s CW problem You hit the off button by mistake Wb2pdw Sent from my iPhone > On Jan 1, 2022, at 2:04 PM, li...@w2irt.net wrote: > > Dougherty, W2IRT ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
