OK I give up ,  since MOST of know that ANYTHING that is called a microphone , ( maybe with the exception of a carbon mic ), can be hooked up to an elecraft prompts the question " what is Wayne looking for ???

I have hooked up the military H250 dynamic handset , bunches of Shure handhelds..and MFJ micromics like the 295. With the required 3 conductor cable & TRS plug EVERYTHING works. Some better some not so hot...but with EQ most sound great. An electret condenser is WAY beyond requirements of comm audio. If you want a fancy 'studio style' check out the  amazon 28$ BM-800 series as it even come with a boom assembly & windscreen for the ultra cool. Since any electret you can find will work. The BM800 electret plugs into the back jack on a K3/k4.  I just bought an electret boom headset at HomeDepot for $9.99 with 3.5mm plugs, great for KX2 trips to the beach.

Maybe there is a small container on the seas full of several micro, mini and 'studio'  mics from Elecraft.   SInce electret mics cost a few dollars , probably makes NO business sense. All MFJ needs to do is put a proper TRS plug on their minis which are perfect for the Kx2/3.

Sounds like way too much effort to maintain a hookup sheet for the variables. *

*There are 3 wires which most hams can swap till they get it right.**

end of rant.

If you're using a non-Elecraft mic with any of our radios (K2, K3, K4, KX2,
KX3), please send me a very brief reply with the manufacturer, model number,
and a note about whether any modifications were required. We're putting
together a database of these for customer reference.

Thanks!
