I actually had an HW16 for a little while around 1993. I bought it at a hamfest, complete with the HG10 VFO, and the crystal and what not to reverse the mod that moved it from 15 meters to 20 meters if I so chose. I did not so choose. It was a fun rig, and I had no trouble with it, even tuning eyes-free. Even used it when I was temporarily in a different state as my primary station for a little while. Fun little rig!
