The best NR I've heard, and nothing else was close, was demonstrated to me by Warren Pratt, NR0V who is credited with developing Pure Signal. He showed it to me on 40M SSB using an ANAN SDR during the day at his QTH down the road a few miles from K6XX. It was quite close to being transparent, and quite effective.
