No only that but you can have complete remote control over your K2 station.
I've been running HRD a long time and for the last year I've been using the
remote features and operating my home station from any WiFi hotspot with my
laptop. It's nice to sit in the back yard with the laptop and work HF and
even control my rotor...neat watching the antenna turn instead of craning my
neck and looking out the window.

Subject: [Elecraft] K2 Software Front Panel Extension
Thank you Leigh and Don for your suggestions.
I was thinking, ok, I could accept a computer screen K2 front panel
extension if it included logging software. My immediate reaction was,
I'll have to write the software myself. But, it has been done, and it's
called Ham Radio Deluxe! Thanks Don for the introduction.
I've downloaded Ham Radio Deluxe this evening. Tomorrow, I'll get the K2
RS-232 serial cable out of the attic and give the program a try. I
already have another logging program, but haven't really begun using it
yet. So, it's finally time to rearrange the desk in my shack to give the
laptop better space and try the Ham Radio Deluxe concept.
Roll your own K3, here I come!
