This isn't that off-topic, in my opinion. It seems to me that there should be science involved in the selection of packing foam taking into account the amount of force the packed object can accept, and giving an optimal density of foam for packing it. So, where is this documented? There must be people who sell manufacturers foam for packing, but I can't find anything useful.
What's the optimum density for packing a K2 for mailing? For sending as luggage? The same for a KPA-800? 73, doug Date: Wed, 25 Oct 2006 10:25:40 -0700 (PDT) From: Scott Spencer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> This is a bit off of the normal topics but since there are a lot of portable operators on this list, I figure somebody may be able to help me out. I have a good transport case for my KX-1 and accessories but I'm having a hard time finding some good foam to line the case with. I'd really like to find some of the pre-scored foam to make it easier to shape for the contents. I've tried the local hobby shops but all they seem to carry is the low density foam. Not suitable for my needs. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
