Hi Roy, I just completed my KPA100 the other night and I used just the split washers as per the instructions. Keep in mind that when you tighten down the srews the the split washers compress and become mostly flat like the fiber washers. Just don't over tighten them and crush Q3 & Q4. Tom W8AMZ
