Check out www.cliftonlaboratories.com. Jack, K8ZOA makes panadapter kits
(Z90 & Z91) which can be used with any radio, but he designed a little
buffer amp that is needed with some radios, including the K2. It's just
what you want.

There is some advice from Eric - WA6HHQ /Elecraft on what to do and not to
do there as well as alternatives for output before or after the crystal
