Hi All.. I'm in the process of building K2 #6030. I completed "Alignment and Test - Part II" last night and all is well. But I did notice something that I'm afraid will eventually grate on my nerves. There's a horrendous "THUMP" through the headphones upon power on and power off. I'm not sure how noticeable it will be through the speaker (as the speaker is still in it's box), but it sure is loud through my sensitive Sony headphones. I found some discussion in the archives but didn't find a definitive solution. My first thought is to maybe have a time delay relay circuit on the output of the AF amp (U9)to prevent the power-on transient and maybe put enough capacitance on V+ to keep the amp alive for a few milliseconds after power down. Would this work? Has anyone else worked out a solution?
Otherwise everything is groovy. I can't find anything else to beech about - yet. :) -David W4SMT _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
