John,

Order all the options at the same time (the KAT2 and KIO2 can wait if you want, they fit into the top cover, no board headers are added). That way you can install the option headers and other parts when you are instructed to do that during the K2 build (yes it is late in the process). You will have the needed headers on hand (in the option packages) when the time comes.

Hello to the reflector,

I am getting ready to order my K2 system and wanted to run some ideas
across the group first.

1. I am looking to build a K2 for QRP operations like Field Day, FYBO,
and StewPerry.
2. The K2 will end up becoming the 28mhz IF for my existing
transverters once the system is complete. (Historically I am more
active on VHF/UHF/Microwaves than on HF.)

With that being said here is the plan that I am thinking about using.
Phase 1: K2, KSB2, and KAT2
Phase 2: KIO2, K60XV, K160RX

Does that plan of attack make sense? It will take me a while to find
the time to get the basic HF rig completed so I don't see any reason
to order the other kits until the base is complete.

Thoughts? Any gotch ya's that I should be aware of with a plan like this?

I would like to place my order this week. :-)

Thanks, JH
