Simon and others with only metric tools,
You can use the next larger metric size with no problem - especially if
6 point deep sockets are used and all nut-drivers I have ever seen are 6
point.
5 mm works well for 3/16 inch nuts
6.5 or 7 mm works for the 1/4 inch size - there is a slight mismatch
here, use a 6 point if you must use the 7 mm size.
13 mm works with the 1/2 inch size.
So if you have only metric tools available, these sizes will work fine -
I just checked for a good fit with my set of metric sockets, and the
sizes shown above are quite workable.

Ah-hah, I've only ever seen one K2 - Peter PH1PH brought his here in
2004.
The imperial socket wrenches could be a problem - maybe we could buy
1/4" and 3/16" from Elecraft? I think I have an old bicycle spanner
with 1/2" for the bigger nuts.

We include these with the kit. In fact they're the same as we supply
with the K2.
