Both kit and assembled versions go through identical hardware alignment and testing. Kit builders get to do some final alignment -- all in firmware -- that is done at the factory for assembled units.

There will be virtually no way to tell a customer-built K3 from a factory-built K3, assuming you follow the instructions.
