        Your VOM is probably adequate for what you need
in assembling the K3.

Remember that the K3 boards have already been tested
and calibrated by Elecraft.  You really just need some
simple measurements to verify that you did not make
major mistakes in assembly  (e.g. pinched wires, etc.)
If you really feel you must have a DMM, I doubt you
need much more than the most basic unit.

P.S.  As a former GM of HP's division responsible for
DMMs, I should suggest you spend $8k for a 3458A.  :-)
